IVC showcases the potential of live music venues as cultural and creative hubs, while building and fostering a national programme of daytime activities which connect and empower local communities.

Nurture Local Communities

We should not be expecting people to have to leave where they are from to find opportunities to connect. We want to take opportunities to them and help build creative communities at a local level, across the country. Whether you’re in a village, town or city, we believe our venue community can offer somewhere to meet like minded people, build connections and create a stronger local community.

Develop Cultural Hubs

Our programmes offer learning opportunities as well as the chance to connect and engage with people who have shared interests. By championing venues as places where activity can be delivered, we’re highlighting why these spaces are ideal cultural hubs where people can connect with like-minded members of their community. These are hubs where people can learn and create, actively contributing to arts and culture in the UK. We’re creating local communities of like-minded people from all kinds of diverse backgrounds and social statuses.

Evolve Venue Sustainability

With so many venues closed during the day, IVC programmes offer an opportunity for venues to open their doors during the day and welcome in local community groups. Our range of programmes help venues to offer structured activity supported by leading practitioners. Our goal is to drive more of this additional activity into venues during down time, so they can sustain themselves alongside live music, explore additional revenue streams directly and indirectly and grow their relationships with local community groups. 

Grow A Representative Creative Industry

We want everyone to have opportunities to work in the creative industries, on and off stage. We want the next generation to be able to see themselves when they go to a show either as a performer or as crew. No-one should feel they do not have an opportunity to learn and make connections in the music industry because of personal characteristics or where they are based. The programmes will be co-produced and co-lead by the local community. 

Create Opportunity For All

Our programmes are open to all with a strong emphasis given to those located in areas of low arts engagement and low socio-economic conditions. They are either free to attend or have tickets priced at a minimum, in some cases with subsidised tickets available for personal assistants and support workers.
