We held our first one day stakeholder event in London back in August 2019 as a way to bring our community together, explore how we could all work together and support each other, broaden the type of activity venues could offer and make Independent Venue Week the best celebration of our community it could be.
Supported by Arts Council England and HARMAN, the day was a huge success with 6 panels discussing a range of topics form funding, access, wellbeing, planning and booking shows and education. 1-2-1 sessions were held for venues and promoters with funders (40 sessions) and agents (66 sessions), many meeting in person for the first time and forging relationships that have continued and helped develop and grow business.
There were 4 Stage Snapshots from partners offering a brief overview of how they could help and support venues and promoters and breakout rooms where people could find out more from those partners.
Independents Day went digital in 2021 so we’re over the moon to be returning to an in person event on Tuesday 2nd August, back to 229 The Venue. Venues and promoters can sign up here to hear more about our plans for #10YearsofIVW and learn more about Independent Venue Community.
